#Happy60thSkypeBirthdayTeaPartyMom!

Yesterday, my beautiful mommy turned 60 years old.

She, my dad & sister were back home in Nevis.

And I wasn’t there with them.

I was supposed to be, but I wasn’t, and I was super bummed.

So I decided to make myself be there to celebrate my mom’s epic milestone.

I arranged with my sister to have a surprise Skype birthday tea party for mom.

Mandi baked a cake for mom and got the tea party ready.

I decided to get a special-order brownie cake from Taste of Belgium. I decided that since I couldn’t be in the Caribbean celebrating with my family, the least I could do was treat myself to the most delicious brownie I’ve had in a while.

I also got some takeout Indian food to really make me feel like I was with my family.

So when 6:30p.m. rolled around, my mom had no idea what the sis and I had in store for her.

This was mom’s expression when I showed her the brownie cake…

What’s the point of having a lighted birthday cake, if you don’t make a wish and blow out the candles?

Needless to say, it was the best Skype session I had with my mommy.

Thank you Jean-Francois for being so wonderful in accommodating my special request for the brownie cake and making my mom’s birthday that more memorable.

Thanks sis for taking care of things on your end.

Thanks technology for being so awesome!

And thanks to all of  you who sent birthday tweets and Facebook comments about my mom.
