Christmas Time in the Nati!

After wonderful Thanksgiving festivities with Adam‘s mom’s side of the family up in South Lebanon on Friday afternoon, we made the trek Downtown for Light Up the Square.

I think this will be a new tradition for Adam and I since we made it for our first tree lighting back in 2009, shortly after we started dating. There’s something incredibly romantic about standing in the frigid cold, all bundled & cuddled up with your boo nestled amongst hundreds of people, looking up at the sky waiting for the tree lighting and the fireworks and the official start of the Christmas season.

We had some time to kill before the lighting, so we walked around Tower Place Mall, got Adam a cool Russian hat from T.J. Maxx, brainstormed gift ideas for my dad at Appointments and checked out the Gingerbread City Display at the Hilton. We even browsed through Macy’s and saw Santa posing with throngs of children dying to find out if they made the naughty or nice list this year.

We met up with the 5chw4r7zs for the lighting & then after, filled up on food/libations and warmth at Nicholson’s.

It was a perfect night in the city!

Christmas was definitely in the air!
